Jay Bhagirath | CFO

Jay Bhagirath Joined Oviedo Properties Group as CFO in 2018, after his retirement from Public Practise career of almost 32 years. His career path also led him to work within larger firms, including advancing his way up to an Associate Partner role at Price Waterhouse & Coopers.

Jay’s current role with Oviedo is to assume the prime responsibility for the planning, implementation, managing and running all financial activities of Oviedo’s Commercial and Real Estate Development divisions. He will provide leadership, direction and management to the finance and accounting team. He will establish and develop relations with senior management, owners and external partners.

When not at work, you can find him spending time with his family. When his family is all together, his favourite pastime is playing with his grandchildren or watching hockey with his sons. As much as he likes hockey and being a Canucks season ticket holder, the sport of cricket runs deep in his blood. One of his dreams is to follow the Indian cricket team around the world.

Fraidoon Rizae | Manager, Real Estate Operations

Fraidoon Rizae joined Oviedo Properties Group in 2017. Coming to us from an extensive career in the auto industry, Fraidoon has quickly taken advantage of superior relationship management skills to excel in his current role as Manager of Real Estate Operations.

Fraidoon currently leads a team of property managers and a complement of accounting and support staff. Their mandate entails; the management of all new and existing commercial and residential leases, the development of detailed annual budgets and reconciliations, and in ensuring quality, the effective and efficient alignment of capital expenditures to common areas for all owned properties.

As Fraidoon’s role reports directly to the President, he is often called upon to work closely with Oviedo executive in strategizing on opportunities to continuously maximize returns on all managed properties with the end goal to not only meet but exceed both financial and operational goals, that is, when they are not seeking his guidance on the best wine to pair with your steak.

Fraidoon takes pride in his ability to meet organizational and operational goals whilst maintaining a value-add experience for his residential and commercial clients.

When Fraidoon is not in the office you can find him travelling the world in search of the next great beach.

Joanna Plasun | AR/AP Accounting

Joanna Plasun joined Oviedo Property Management in 2019 in our accounting department as the accounting clerk for both the construction and the commercial side of Oviedo’s business. She brings an extensive 9 years’+ of accounting experience in the real estate construction industry. Her responsibilities involve taking care of all the daily tasks of accounting, administrative work, reporting and the annual reconciliation of the commercial/construction properties. Joanna’s attitude towards working in a highly challenging/demanding environment where accuracy to detail are key is very admirable.

When she is not working, she is either on a road trip somewhere or spending time with her family.

Elizabeth Busch | Property Manager

Elizabeth Busch joined Oviedo Property Management team in 2018 as a Property Manager. Her responsibilities involve looking after all the day to day management of each site, scheduling of the site supervisors and keeping track of all leases. She loves dealing with tenants to make sure they are happy and that they can rely on their property manager who will go the extra step to provide the absolute best attention required in any areas of concern. Elizabeth is also responsible for the day to day task completion and finding tenant placements for our micro leasing offices.

Before taking up the role of a property manager at Oviedo Property Management, she worked for a member of the parliament as a Constituency Assistant to the MP. Prior to this role, Elizabeth and her husband ran a business developing Building Envelopes for property management companies.

When she is not working, she is either baking banana bread, biking or spending her time with her grandchildren one too many.

Elena Lasby CPA, CGA | Controller

Elena joined Oviedo Properties Group in 2020.  Elena brings with her a wealth of experience in both industry and public practice. Before joining Oviedo, she served as a Senior Manager for accounting and tax firms where she was charged with managing various client engagements such as year-end accounting, review engagements, corporate taxes and executing strategic corporate and estate plans developed by partners.

Elena obtained her CPA CGA designation back in 2006 and has since been in management positions in the industry. Elena’s current role as Controller reports directly to the CFO. Her responsibility involves overlooking accounting and finance activities ensuring best internal controls and practices.

When Elena is not working, she is either at a restaurant with her husband trying different kinds of food, or playing with Buddy and Macey (she loves her doggies)
